Dr. Zhixiong Ma joins the lab on January 4th, 2022
Zhixiong was born and raised in Xiangtan, Hunan province. He went to the Huazhong Agriculture University, where he studied Genetics and Animal Science. He then worked as a research technician for about two years at the National Institute of Biological Science, studying the molecular mechanisms of the circadian clock with Dr. Erquan Zhang. After that, he spent another three years for Ph.D. study in the same lab. During his postdoc training, Zhixiong carried out the collaborative project between the Purdue University and Peking University Health Science Center, studying the malfunction of Scn2a with sleep disorder in the Autism spectrum mice model. Zhixiong is an expert in EEG recording, sleep analysis, and RNA sequencing.
